Method
- Cut pork belly into 1–1.5 inch cubes
- Pat dry thoroughly
- Season with salt and pepper
- Oven Method (Best for crispy texture):
- Preheat oven to 400°F
- Spread pork belly on a baking sheet
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, flipping halfway
- Air Fryer Option:
- Cook at 375°F for 18–22 minutes
- Shake halfway
- Add sauce ingredients to a pan
- Cook on low–medium heat
- Stir continuously for 2–3 minutes
- Add crispy pork belly to the glaze
- Toss quickly to coat
- Cook 1–2 minutes max
Notes
We tested this recipe with both a diluted glaze and a no-water glaze, and found that removing the water creates a thicker, more concentrated sauce that coats the pork belly better. For best results, cook the glaze on low heat and stir continuously to prevent burning, since it thickens quickly without added liquid.
