- How to Pop the Popcorn (Stovetop Method):
- Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the oil plus 3 test kernels.
- Cover the pot with a lid.
- When the test kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and cover again.
- Shake the pot gently every 10–15 seconds to prevent burning.
- When popping slows to 2–3 seconds between pops, remove from heat and pour popcorn into a large bowl.
- How to Make Garlic Parm Popcorn:
- Melt the butter over low heat. Stir in garlic powder and garlic salt.
- Drizzle the garlic butter over the warm popcorn while tossing to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the popcorn and toss again until evenly coated.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately.
Notes
We tested this garlic parm popcorn using both air-popped and stovetop popcorn. For best results, season the popcorn while it is still warm so the garlic butter and parmesan cheese stick evenly without settling at the bottom of the bowl.
