- Place eggs in a pot and cover with water
- Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat
- Let sit for 10–12 minutes
- Transfer eggs to an ice water bath for 5–10 minutes
- This helps with easy peeling
- Peel eggs and slice in half lengthwise
- Remove yolks and place them in a bowl
- Mash yolks until smooth
- Mix in mayonnaise, mustard, and relish
- Add vinegar if using
- Season with salt and pepper
- Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into egg whites
- Sprinkle with paprika
- Chill before serving
Notes
We tested this deviled eggs with relish recipe using both sweet pickle relish and dill pickle relish. For a more classic, slightly sweet flavor, sweet relish works best, while dill relish creates a tangier, lower-sugar option that’s better for a diabetic-friendly version. For the creamiest texture, make sure the yolks are fully mashed before mixing.
