Deviled Eggs With Relish

Ingredients
  

  • 6 large eggs hard boiled
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 –2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish or dill relish
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar optional, for tang
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Method
 

  1. Place eggs in a pot and cover with water
  2. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat
  3. Let sit for 10–12 minutes
  4. Transfer eggs to an ice water bath for 5–10 minutes
  5. This helps with easy peeling
  6. Peel eggs and slice in half lengthwise
  7. Remove yolks and place them in a bowl
  8. Mash yolks until smooth
  9. Mix in mayonnaise, mustard, and relish
  10. Add vinegar if using
  11. Season with salt and pepper
  12. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into egg whites
  13. Sprinkle with paprika
  14. Chill before serving

Notes

We tested this deviled eggs with relish recipe using both sweet pickle relish and dill pickle relish. For a more classic, slightly sweet flavor, sweet relish works best, while dill relish creates a tangier, lower-sugar option that’s better for a diabetic-friendly version. For the creamiest texture, make sure the yolks are fully mashed before mixing.
